However, it has been making a trendy statement all over the world for the past few years because of it’s fashionable and artsy appearance.
Here at Shu-Shi we strive to provide fashion forward items that provide an effortless and comfortable wear. Sarongs are ideal for this! Each sarong is handmade with detailed fringe tassels. We use an ancient technique called batik. During this process the sarongs are dyed and then the color is set by the sun. It is a process that has been around since the first century. Because of this technique, colors may tend to bleed after the first wash. Handmade items need a little bit of extra Love because they are unique.

I started Shu-Shi over 20 years ago after finishing my education in Fashion and Textile Design in New York City. I have always had a passion to learn and explore. In my many travels I landed in Bali where I fell in love with the vibrant colors and textile designs. Here, I also found a wonderful team that has turned into my family. Staying with the same manufacturer for over 20 years now, Shu-Shi has helped provide and maintain jobs to women and men in Bali, Indonesia who make our wonderful handmade products.
